NYCMBL Players of the Week

Ryan Smith and Paul Lucien both turned in tremendous performances on Sunday to earn Player of the Week honors.

In a 9-inning game against the Wingbar Warriors, the Skyscrapers' veteran shined at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and four runs batted in. Although his team has dropped three of its last four games, Lucien has been stellar at the plate this season. He boasts a .667 avg. and leads the Scrapers with 9 RBIs.

Against the Mud Hens this week, Ryan Smith reminded everyone why he has long been one of the league's most feared hurlers. In six innings of work, Smith fanned 15 batters while allowing just three hits and one earned run. Smith was at his best between the 3rd and 6th innings, when he fanned 9 straight batters.

The game was tied at 1-1 when play was suspended just before the bottom of the 7th inning.
